RISING GROUND AND NO ROOM TO TURN VIVIEN EYERS A BIOGRAPHY OTAGO’S HOME-GROWN AVIATOR Three Decades Under The Radar My late brother Geoff inherited his determination to fly from his father who was a Lancaster pilot in the Second World War, and his disregard for inconvenient rules from his seafaring grandfather. Geoff designed, built and flew four of his own aircraft, and for over three decades flew around the skies of Otago, constantly dodging the authorities. Unplanned landings and frequent crashes were routine inconveniences, but he was never seriously injured. He had a high tolerance for risk, the possibility of failure simply added excitement to any challenge. When he wasn’t flying, Geoff put his creative energies, and active mind to many other diverse projects that included house building and launching ‘UFO’s. This book is our tribute to a very special, unorthodox brother.
