The New York Times called Jane Smiley, “the sort of writer who secretly drives other writers a little bit crazy. She’s prolific and successful, untroubled by neuroses or blockages, with no messy blots of drinking or drug-taking on her résumé”. Jane Smiley is a genre-hopping American author, best known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Thousand Acres. She’s prolific: 16 novels, five works of non-fiction, five YA novels, two short-story collections, and now, hot off the press, her first picture book, Twenty Yawns.
Come and hear Phillippa Duffy from the University Book Shop tackle the prodigious, non-yawny imagination of Jane Smiley.
